I joined A-Plant 15 years ago from another hire company. I was working in Liverpool at the time, but my wife was pregnant and I’d promised her that we’d move back to Newcastle before the baby was born!

However, it wasn’t just geography that brought me here. A-Plant was the ‘new kid on the block’ in the hire industry at the time, so it was a really exciting place to be. I still find it exciting, even after all these years.

I love the variety I have as a Service Centre Manager. There are new challenges every day and I like finding ways to overcome them.

I get lot of job satisfaction, especially when we hit targets or manage to retain big customers, which isn’t easy in such a competitive market.

I really like working with such a close-knit team too.

In my experience, A-Plant is the best company in the industry to work for. When people leave us, they often come back!

I’m happy where I am at the moment, but I’d eventually like to move further up the ladder here. The scope for progression is excellent – it’s one of the best things about working here.

Even our Chief Executive and Managing Directors started out in depots and worked their way to the top!
